Paul's Greeting and the Gospel's Power

Romans 1:1-17

1
Chapter 1
1 Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, set apart for the gospel of God 2 which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures 3 concerning his Son, the one who has become out of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4 the one appointed Son of God in power according to the Spirit of sanctification from the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, 5 through whom we received grace and apostleship for obedience of faith among all the nations for the sake of his name, 6 in whom you also are called ones of Jesus Christ, 7 To all those in Rome, beloved of God, called holy ones: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. 8 First, I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed in the whole world. 9 For God is my witness, whom I worship in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, as I unceasingly make mention of you. 10 always in my prayers, begging if somehow now at last I will be prospered in the will of God to come to you. 11 For I long to see you, that I might impart some spiritual gift to you for you to be strengthened, 12 And this is to mutually encourage one another among you through the faith in each other, yours and mine. 13 Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that many times I purposed to come to you and was hindered until the present, so that I might have some fruit also among you just as also among the remaining nations. 14 I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, to wise and to foolish. 15 In this way, I am also eager to proclaim the gospel to you in Rome. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone believing, to the Jew both first and to the Greek. 17 For the righteousness of God is revealed in it from faith to faith, just as it is written: "But the righteous one will live by faith."
